The ambulatory pediatrics fellowship training is a two-year program designed to train the general pediatrician to be administratively and academically competent to be able to redirect the focus of the outpatient clinic into a primary health care training ground for medical students and other pediatricians. It is a hybrid of clinical and administrative training, which opens opportunities for the trainee to further subspecialize based on his preferred field like Child Protection, Research, Administrative, Community practice, public health and medical education. It has strong linkages with the community and with resources to sustain the community programs.

During the pandemic, the OPD Telemed Consultation was started in order to provide a safer alternative for the patients. The Ambulatory fellows are actively involved in training the residents, providing service to the patient and helping improve the telemedicine program giving them more learning and teaching opportunities with this innovation.

Consultant trainees are mostly fellows or diplomates of the Philippine Pediatric Society and are graduates of the PCMC Ambulatory Pediatrics Fellowship training program. The consultants have masteral training in Public Management and Hospital Governance, National Security and Business Administration. There is also a 1 mentor per trainee ratio.

The program is scheduled for PPS accreditation within the end of this year (2021).
