About Rehabilitation

PCMC RMD was first established on June 25, 1984. It is located on the ground floor of the hospital’s left wing. It is composed of medical consultants, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Clerks. In addition, the Division has Occupational and Physical Therapy interns from various colleges and universities.

Goals

01.

1 For patients to receive a comprehensive evaluation and analysis of strengths and disability.

02.

2 To recommend the appropriate treatment program that aims for the patient’s independence and participation in age-appropriate activities.

03.

3 To advocate a safe and effective environment for the provision of rehabilitation services.

04.

4 To expand the scope of the Division’s services by setting up new units catering to providing specialized care and training.

05.

5 To promote continuing professional education of its staff and personnel by pursuing graduate studies and engaging in research studies.

06.

6 To encourage the staff and personnel to be up to date with the current trends of the practice by attending seminars, workshops, and certification courses.

07.

7 To become advocates in spreading information regarding health maintenance and disability prevention by conducting seminars and workshops for parents and other professionals about understanding and caring for disabled children.

08.

8 To provide a training ground to Occupational and Physical Therapy interns in the assessment and treatment of pediatric patients.

09.

9 To train future professionals who are knowledgeable in handling various pediatric cases, skilled in therapeutic handling techniques, and affectionate and compassionate towards children with disabilities and their families.

What We Offer

PCMC RMD offers evaluation and therapeutic management to children 18 years old and below. Likewise, PCMC employees and their eligible dependents who are 18 years old and below may avail of RMD services.
